DOLMAN – ‘On Stoney Ground’ Music Video
Last year we were proud to screen the music video for Bristol based band DOLMAN's single 'On Stoney Ground' directed by Tia Salisbury. Set in 1913, the video follows a group of young lads playing rugby at Clifton Rugby Football Club and ends with a harrowing reflection on the reality of WWI.
If you missed it, then here it is again.
Here at Encounters we’re proud of the wide range of music videos submitted each year, ranging in different styles, genres and nationalities. Here’s also a small taster of other music videos screened last year.
MUSIC AWARD WINNER – TOUS LES MEMES
Henry Scholfield won the Music Video award at our 2014 festival with his video for Stromae’s single ‘Tous Les Mêmes.’ In this vibrant video we see the lines between gender blurred as Stromae shows off his male and female side.
AUDIENCE AWARD – DRIVE HOME
Jess Cope’s animation for Steven Wilson’s single ‘Drive Home’ follows the story of Charles, who is tormented after the mysterious disappearance of his partner Lucy. Until one day he stumbles on a belonging of hers at the lake which leads to the truth behind her disappearance.
