WHAT OUR VOLUNTEERS SAY…

‘Volunteering at Encounters was an amazing experience from the second I set foot into the event. Being my first film festival and having no past relations to any of the attendees or staff, my initial thoughts of the event were filled with angst; almost opting out of the experience. which I’m eternally glad I didn’t.  The support provided by the Encounters team was insightful; providing as much assistance as possible along the way, as well as the Watershed team who’s hosting of the event was impeccable. The people that I came across were also exceptional, people from all over the globe coming together to learn, share and educate one another on our love for film. Since Encounters I have kept in contact with some of my volunteer team and even gone on to produce short films of our own, which without Encounters wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you Encounters!.’

‘The festival ran as smoothly as a well-oiled machine and communication was encouraged between everyone as equals, so being part of such an amazing team felt very accomplishing. Plus so many varied activities were on offer to experience that it hardly felt like work at all!’
