Georgia has a rich tradition of producing short animation. The best part of creative intellectuals, writers, directors, actors, composers, well-known artists, worked in this field and created real masterpieces. Palme’d’or winner animation film Chiri (Plague) (1983), is a great example of this tradition. Recently, the contemporary Georgian animation has returned to the prestigious international film festivals, with high quality production. Encounters will present 7 Georgian short animation films.
