You’ve put all your creative energies – and a fair amount of blood, sweat and tears – into developing and making your first feature film. For you it is probably the most important film that everyone should see (in the cinema preferably) and will of course love. However the reality of getting a film onto a cinema screen is a bit more complex that maybe you expected. There are circa 900 films released a year in UK cinemas which are dominate of course by Hollywood and their extravagant marketing budgets. So how do you even begin to get your loved low budget film in front of those desired audiences in a very crowded theatrical market ? This panel will explore the challenges and present new initiatives for debut British features getting into cinemas and getting profile and presence in a competitive market .
